When we replaced our foyer light in July, we noticed a little something. The door and the surround of the little window next to it are different colors.
Why? Why? Why?
Luckily a solution is only a paint can away… if I can choose a color. Here is what I’m thinking so far:
From left to right, here is what we are looking at (sorry for the horrible photos):
It’s a little hard to see the difference between the Calvary and the Shimmering Sea. Calvary is a deeper tone – more navy with some grey in it. Shimmering Sea is brighter and pops more.
Right now I am digging the Semi-Sweet and Calvary. Calvary is Steve’s favorite. The blue is obviously more of a pop of color, but it is a navy… so I can also use it as a pseudo-neutral.
It might look like we are really darkening up this corner of the room, but we are going to be removing the tile in the next few months (all of the grout is coming up and you can actually pick up the tiles) and replacing it with something a little lighter. Hopefully a darker door will balance it out.
And, let’s be real. Anything is better than the poop brown color that is there now.
What do you guys think?
